From Flower Mound 343 Restoration Project

“The Volunteer fire department a long time ago bought a 1942 model 75 Mack fire truck from the Army. It was the first fire truck Flower Mound ever had. The years have been hard on the old engine but it is our goal to restore the old engine to parade condition again. One of the most unique things about this unit was it’s call sign. While in service, serving the community of Flower Mound, TX. It’s call sign was “343”. As you know this number has a special place now as that is the same number of firefighters that were lost at the World Trade Center on 9/11.”
